Walking Holidays The Swiss Path
Spend your walking holidays in central Switzerland: Enjoy this easy and short walking trail around Lake Uri, Lake Lucerne’s southernmost and romantic part. The 35km long trail is clearly sign-posted and was built for the 7th centenary of the Swiss Confederation. Each Swiss canton is allocated a stretch and each Swiss citizen is represented by 5mm of the path. The stretches between the various destinations can be freely combined and planned according to ability. Your will be based in the small harbour town of Flüelen just mid-point of ‘The Swiss Path’. | Day 1: | Arrival Travel from Zürich airport to Flüelen a small harbour town on Lake Uri, just mid-point of ‘The Swiss Path’. | Day 2 & 3: | Stretches of ‘The Swiss Path’ There are 7 stretches to the hiking route, each of which can be combined or taken individually. Most start with a boat trip (covered by your Swiss Pass) from Flüelen harbour to various villages around Lake Uri and continue on foot from there. Altitude difference on this hiking route is a maximum of 400 meters, on some stretches the path is completely flat. Keen hikers can do several stretches in one day and explore further a field on the remaining days as the included Swiss Pass is valid all over Switzerland. |
