Location: Saas-Fee, Valais
The charming village of Saas Fee in the Canton Valais is surrounded by impressive mountain peaks, most notably the Dom which is the highest mountain in Switzerland. The picturesque village has retained a typical chalet-style appearance and is completely car-free. The only forms of transport are horsedrawn carriages and small electric vehicles. The resort has plenty to offer in alpine sports. Choices range from summer skiing over mountain biking to an impressive 350km of hiking trails in one of the most scenically beautiful and diverse valleys. You can also travel to the top of the Allalin – the Glaicer mountain – and enjoy lunch in the world’s highest revolving restaurant or to visit the ice pavilion situated at 3,500m above sea level.
1* Hotel Gletschergarten This charming traditional chalet-style hotel, built in local wood, lies in the very heart of the old village, the centre of Saas Fee. The hotel has a comfortable lounge, sun terrace and an excellent a la carte restauraunt. Eash room has a bath or shower, WC, radio, telephone, tea and cofee making facilities and a balcony.
5* Ferienart Resort and Spa This hotel with its high standard of service and accommodation is conveneintly situated in the cantre of Saas-Fee. The hotel has a cosy lounge area, lobby bar, 5 restauraunts, large Spa area with indoor swimming pool, pool bar, a number of different sauna and steam bath treatments, fitness room and golf simulator. Extensive breakfast buffet and 6 - course dinner included. All 83 rooms are in alpine style and have a bath or shower, WC, hairdryer, TV, radio, telephone, minibar, safe, small sitting area and balcony. Single rooms are north facing. Superior rooms are in the annex building with open bath area, seperate shower, WC and have a south-facing balcony.
