Ski holidays Grindelwald
Spend your Switzerland ski holidays in Grindelwald: Grindelwald is one of the largest resorts in the Bernese Oberland and lies at the foot of the famous north face of the Eiger. Three main areas are directly accessible from the village of Grindelwald offering around 200km of varied pistes. The Kleine Scheidegg, reached by cog railway from Grindelwald, is a starting point for some wonderful red and blue runs at all levels, with some harder, black ones. From here there is great skiing back to Grindelwald Grund, down to Wengen, or across to the Maennlichen area. From the village there is also direct access to the First area via the Firstbahn Gondola which takes skiers right up to 2,168m. Take the chairlift to Oberjoch at 2,486m offering a large area of blue and red runs, mostly south-facing and with fantastic views. 3* superior Hotel Derby This superior middle-class hotel is situated right in the centre of Grindelwald, just opposite the railway station. Various facilities including restaurants, snack bar, bar, small fitness room, sauna and solarium. Cosily furnished rooms with ensuite facilities. Standard rooms are smaller and have shower-only while superior rooms are larger and have bath.
4* Hotel Sunstar Situated opposite the First gondola and only a few minutes' walk from the resort centre and railway station. Facilities include indoor pool and steam bath, large wellness/spa area offering numerous treatments (supplements apply) 2 restaurants, hotel bar, lounge with open fireplace and weekly activity programme. Standard rooms are north-facing while superior rooms are south-facing overlooking the valley, drinks from the minibar are free of charge.
4* Hotel Eiger The hotel is situated right in the heart of Grindelwald with easy access to all resort amenities. All rooms are traditionally furnished. Superior rooms are slightly larger and have balcony and view towards the Eiger.
3* Hotel Eigerblick The hotel enjoys a sunny and peaceful location just above Grindelwald centre, approximately 10 minutes' walk from the station. The nearest ski bus stop is just around the corner and the hotel offers a bus service to the ski lifts in the morning. Facilities include bar, restaurant, panorama restaurant and sauna. Rooms are spacious and Swiss style. Superior rooms are in the new annexe building with views towards the Eiger.
