Between the two beautiful lakes of Thun and Brienz, nestled at the foot of the Jungfrau ski region, lies the world famous resort of Interlaken (569m/1866ft). With the impressive panorama of the Jungfrau massif it is one of the most popular resorts in Switzerland. There are miles of prepared winter walks, sledge and toboggan runs accessible from Interlaken as well as 200km of ski runs of the Jungfrau Region. A curling and ice rink as well as numerous mountain excursions available offer an abundance of activities for the skier and non-skier alike.
To ski or not to ski:
Choose between a return day excursion to the ‘Jungfraujoch’ the highest train station in Europe (11,333ft) or a 3 day ski pass to the Grindelwald / Wengen ski area. A return journey from Interlaken to Grindelwald by train cost £12.
